As we all know technologies are growing at a rapid speed as if it has its own sense of understanding like a living entity. It might be because there are so many human brains working together creating a virtual net of coded intelligence which is termed as swarm intelligence inspired from the bees.

But, the thing that we observe is that among all fields of tech — Information technology is one that is growing faster than others with the speed of our thinking, because of what we think we create in the virtual world of the internet.

Somewhere we all know, this IT advancement is molding our life in its own structural accordance. For example, the computer and smartphones or even Medium itself is an example of the fact that how these technologies have made our life easy and they became our basic needs.

Artificial Intelligence is part of the next big thing and that is going to change everything and everyone.

Though,

The healthcare industry is one that adopted IT lately, and that is also only by some developed nations like the US, the rest of the world is still unaware of this HealthCare2.0 revolution or do not ready to utilize it. In that sense, HealthCare requires the interest of Governments. In the US with government initiatives, tech like EHR, PMS, RCM, etc came in practice. But even there is a gap in value to patient and care. And for that, the new innovations are taking place, like mHealth, wearables, patient portals, and kiosks.

But the question is What AI can do for us?

  • Provide Intelligent personal assistants that can quickly solve minor sickness
  • Lend support via Emotional intelligence Indicators
  • Serve as Activity Tracking Hearing Aids

With technology, we are living in exciting times. Almost every day, a new digital advancement seems to appear making it easy and convenient for us to manage and control our health. The aim of these new technologies isn’t just to improve our activity levels. They are there to improve our overall lifestyle and help us live a healthier and more fulfilling life. How artificial intelligence can transform psychiatry?

But I also believe that Psychiatry is the medical specialization that can benefit the most from AI.

Understanding a person’s mental state is not as laid back as we think. It involves numerous observations based on cognitive assessments; measuring these assessments is the hardest part of mental health diagnosis.

Smartphones and wearable technology provide an opportunity to measure these cognitive assessments that traditional neuropsychiatry uses to diagnose and measure behavior. The number of psychiatrists believing in artificial intelligence (AI) is gradually increasing. They are ready to apply new technological tools in their assessment and diagnoses process. Some of these new methods and tools are Machine Learning Algorithm, Wrist Band Monitoring Emotions, Personal Health Records and more… You can read in the source article how they can be a help in care.

The effect of AI on our world would be like if we got an alien technology.
